High GRE scores are important for admission to most graduate programs, but they can also help students qualify for merit-based financial aid. The School of Communication at American University, for example, offers a series of merit awards that are based mostly on undergraduate GPA and GRE scores. Candidates for these awards can assume that they will have to significantly exceed the minimum requirements for admission. Applicants to graduate programs in the English Department at Sam Houston State University can meet the minimum qualifications for competitive scholarships with a 300 combined verbal and quantitative GRE score and a 3.5 undergraduate GPA. Merit scholarships for the MBA/PSM program at Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business are awarded to particularly strong applicants on the basis of undergraduate transcripts, work history, and GRE or GMAT scores. These are just a few of many examples that show outstanding GRE performance to be helpful, both in terms of acceptance to graduate school and with respect to financing graduate education.
Manhattan Review's GRE prep courses and private tutoring have long been associated with elite university acceptance. Our students have been offered seats at top institutions such as Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown, Swarthmore, Emory, and CalTech. They've completed degrees in every academic discipline relevant to the GRE, from the liberal arts to the hard sciences. They've become successful professionals after graduation, at Fortune 500 companies (including Cardinal Health, Marathon Petroleum, United Technologies, and New York Life Insurance) and Auckland firms (such as Snakk Media, Eyeworks Touchdown, Skycity Entertainment Group, and Tapper Transport). They enjoy higher salaries and rates of employment than those with a bachelor's degree only, and are well prepared for a future economy that is likely to be characterized by increasing automation and elimination of lower-skilled jobs. Manhattan Review's GRE prep courses and private tutoring in Auckland will help you secure a quality graduate education and keep you ahead of the curve.

Meet an Auckland GRE Tutor: Brittany H.
Brittany H., the daughter of an officer in the U.S. Army, spent her childhood in several American cities (principally Chicago, Seattle, and New Orleans). She completed her undergraduate degree at Tulane University, where she majored in political science. She is also a graduate of Duke University, with a master's degree in analytical political economy (a joint economics and political science degree program).
Brittany has been a GRE tutor since 2011. Prior to her 2016 arrival in Auckland, she taught GRE prep in Atlanta and in the New York City area. She was also formerly a teacher of high school civics courses in northern New Jersey. She has helped over 200 students get accepted to selective private and public universities in the United States, including Harvard, UC Berkeley, Cornell, and the University of Georgia. She supplements her teaching income as a freelance writer, which keeps her GRE verbal skills in good shape.
